Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant for the Copley Lab on a day shift, per diem and part-time basis. You will process specimens, describe gross features, prepare tissue blocks for analysis, and assist pathologists with autopsy and research-related tasks.

Required is a Bachelor’s Degree and ASCP Pathologist Assistant certification with certification due within 6 months. Priority given to those with Level 1–2B case experience and strong teamwork in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required for consideration.
• ASCP Pathologist Assistant certification required within 6 months of start date.
• Prior experience in grossing Level 1–2B cases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process simple to complex surgical specimens under pathologist supervision.
• Describe gross features and select tissues for processing and studies.
• Prepare tissues for light microscopy and special studies.
• Assist with specimen accessioning and documentation.
• Maintain equipment and assist with accreditation readiness.
