Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Pathologist Assistant to support pathologists in dissection of human surgical specimens and postmortem examinations. You will assist with gross dictation and may take on workflow management, research, or teaching duties.

The role requires a Master’s level PA program, PA(ASCP) certification within one year, and solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and growth and development. Part-time schedule; travel not required.

Responsibilities

The Pathologist Assistant assists pathologists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and performance of human postmortem examinations. Assists with and/or performs gross dictation of complex surgical specimens. As directed by supervising pathologist(s), manager, or administrator, may assume other responsibilities including work flow management, research, and/or teaching duties. Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.

Schedule Details

20 hours per week. Two (8) hour shifts (9:30AM-6PM) and one (4) hour shift. Weekdays (Monday-Friday) to be determined.
