Job description

Vassar Brothers Medical Center, part of the Northwell Health Northern Market, is seeking a per diem Pathologist to join our group of 27 board-certified pathologists across the market. The testing volume across the market is over 4 million test results per year, including approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases. Vassar Brothers proudly hosts pathology residents from Danbury Hospital and PA students from Quinnipiac University. We have a growing cancer institute that brings us interesting and varied cases.

This position is based at our Vassar Brothers Medical Center campus in Poughkeepsie, NY, just 75 minutes north of New York City.

Job Summary:

Per diem pathologist at a medical center with a cancer program and wide range of clinical services that is part of a comprehensive health system.

Per Diem opportunities are available at $225/hour.

Job Requirements:

• MD or DO and completion of AP/CP Residency training.
• Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.
• Candidates with subspecialty training and/or experience are encouraged to apply.
• Both experienced pathologists and those in fellowships are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong desire to interact with clinicians and laboratory staff, proficiency in the performance of frozen sections, cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN), and rapid on-site cytology assessments.
