Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey, seeks a pathologist with a focus on Cellular Therapy, Clinical Apheresis and Transfusion Medicine to help develop a Cellular Therapy laboratory and support the Bone Marrow Transplant Program.

The candidate will oversee the Clinical Apheresis Service, strive to insource the program, and collaborate with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care for our diverse patient

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with Pathology and Blood Bank Medicine specialty; subspecialty in apheresis is a plus.
• Board-certified by the American Board of Pathology as a Clinical Pathologist with Transfusion Medicine certification.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop a Cellular Therapy laboratory to support the Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
• Oversee the Clinical Apheresis Service and pursue an insourced program for Cooper.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care within Pathology and Laboratory Services.

Unit Overview

The candidate will be a member of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services under the leadership of Dr. Roland Schwarting. This growing department currently employs 32 pathologists.

Short Description

Cooper University Health Care has an exciting opportunity for a pathologist interested in Cellular Therapy, Clinical Apheresis and Transfusion Medicine. The qualified candidate will participate in developing a Cellular Therapy laboratory to support the growing Bone Marrow Transplant Program. In addition, the candidate will oversee the Clinical Apheresis Service, eventually developing an insourced program for Cooper.

Education Requirements

MD or DO degree with Pathology and Blood Bank Medicine specialty. Subspecialty in apheresis is a plus.

Experience Required

Prior experience with cellular therapy laboratory operations, apheresis and associated regulatory requirements required.

License/ Certification Requirements

The candidate must be board-certified by the American Board of Pathology as a Clinical Pathologist with specialty board certification in Transfusion Medicine.

Hourly Rate Min $151.44

Hourly Rate Max $238.72
