Job summary

InterDigital is seeking an experienced Patent Operations Paralegal to join the company's Portfolio Operations team in Conshohocken, PA or Wilmington, DE. The role supports the management of InterDigital's worldwide patent portfolio and coordinates with internal teams and outside counsel.

The position requires 5+ years in patent preparation and prosecution, familiarity with IP management software (IPfolio preferred), and a Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Significant experience with IP management software; IPfolio preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Patents team to ensure efficient management of the patent portfolio across the business.
• Process invention disclosures, oversee workflow of internal and external prosecution counsel, and organize and facilitate portfolio reviews.
• Act as liaison between internal personnel, outside counsel and other third-party vendors to ensure adherence to established prosecution and operational processes.
• Maintain business data using the company's IP Management Software.
• Support the patent business by becoming a subject matter expert in policies and procedures of the Patents department.
• Support the acquisition or sale of patent portfolios.
• Perform first-line approval of patent prosecution invoices in Legal Tracker and support the Patents team in their use of Legal Tracker.
• Support special projects and initiatives on behalf of the Patents department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution required, with significant knowledge of US, PCT and foreign jurisdiction practice.
• Significant experience with IP Management Software required, with preference given to IPfolio experience.
• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
• Experience with Legal Tracker preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to shift priorities quickly and re-prioritize tasks without compromising deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
• Technologically inclined candidates, especially with prior experience with organization-wide system updates, strongly preferred.
