Job summary

My client, a top national law firm, is seeking a talented associate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in patent litigation to join our growing IP practice in Los Angeles. This position offers opportunities to manage cases independently and contribute strategically in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will represent clients in complex patent disputes, draft critical documents, and drive strategy across all phases of discovery and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
• 3+ years of patent litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and drive litigation strategy.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills; experience taking depositions and handling court appearances.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex patent infringement disputes in state/federal courts.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, claim construction materials, and other substantive legal documentation.
• Conduct legal and technical research and develop case strategies relating to infringement, validity, enforceability, and damages; manage all phases of discovery.
• Assist with Markman hearings, inter partes review proceedings, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Collaborate closely with clients, inventors, experts, and litigation teams to analyze complex technologies and advance practical, business-focused solutions.

What youll do:

• Represent clients in complex patent infringement disputes in state/federal courts
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, claim construction materials, and other substantive legal documentation
• Conduct legal and technical research and develop case strategies relating to infringement, validity, enforceability, and damagesManage all phases of discovery, including document review and production, depositions, expert discovery, and coordination of technical experts

Requirements

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between 225k-265k

Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
