Job summary

An Am Law 100 firm is seeking a patent associate for its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution group, preferably based in Washington, D.C. The role involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications across GPUs, TPUs, accelerators, neural engines, and robotics circuitry, with a focus on accuracy and timely prosecution.

Required: JD with active bar admission, USPTO admission, degrees in EE/CE/CS/Physics/Math, 3+ years' patent experience, and strong technical writing

Qualifications

• JD with active bar admission in the jurisdiction where you intend to practice.
• USPTO admission required.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, physics, or mathematics.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills across the subject matter areas above.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications across a sophisticated client base with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage the prosecution lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of clients, including GPUs, TPUs, accelerators, neural engines, and robotics circuitry.

A leading Am Law 100 firm is looking to hire a patent associate into its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution group, with a preference for candidates based in Washington, D.C.

The role

You’ll be drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a technically sophisticated client base, with particular depth in graphics processing units, tensor processing units, accelerators, neural engines, and robotics circuitry. Responsibilities cover the full prosecution lifecycle, from drafting high-quality applications through to managing prosecution for a diverse portfolio of clients, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Compensation

$140,000 - $250,000 base salary depending on experience, plus performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
