Job summary

Ikon Search partners with a well-established national law firm in Manhattan seeking an experienced Patent Agent - Electrical to join its Intellectual Property and Technology division. This role offers hybrid flexibility and competitive compensation.

You will draft and prosecute U.S. and international applications across electrical, software, mechanical and electromechanical technologies, while managing portfolios and collaborating with clients and counsel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of patent prep and prosecution experience.
• Active USPTO registration.
• Experience handling patent prosecution matters independently.
• Exposure to electrical, software, mechanical, or electromechanical technologies.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience (7+ preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
• Active USPTO registration required.
• Experience handling patent prosecution matters independently, ideally within a law firm or corporate IP department.
• Exposure to electrical, software, mechanical, or electromechanical technologies.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
