  • Set up dessert station and manage par levels; ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Label, date, and rotate products; adhere to FIFO and company standards.
  • Organize and clean walk-ins; ensure pastry inventory is accurate.
  • Maintain knowledge of all pastry products and respond to dietary restrictions.
  • Process orders from POS system accurately and timely.
  • Communicate product needs to Chef team and report equipment issues.
  • Complete logs and safety checklists; prioritize safety and ongoing training.

Position Summary

The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and delicious sweets. Pastry cooks maintain quality and consistency of all dessert menu items. Interacts with employees, and supervisors in a polite, respectful and courteous manner.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Follow all prep lists created by Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef
  • Measure all ingredients properly and strictly follow all recipes.
  • Handle all food items and follow DOH guidelines for potentially hazard food items.
  • Properly set up dessert station maintaining all par levels.
  • Must keep station and all knives, cutting boards, and workstations sanitized.
  • Rotate all prep stock and properly label and date all products, ensuring FIFO and Company standards are met.
  • Organize and clean walk‑ins.
  • Possesses In depth knowledge of all pastry products.
  • Handle all dietary restrictions.
  • Accurately handle all orders from the POS system in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all product needs to Chef team.
  • Report damaged or defective equipment to management.
  • Complete all required Jolt checklists.
  • Properly label and date all products
  • Complete any needed logs and checklists.
  • Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.

Experience, Education, & Certifications
  • 1+ years’ experience as a Pastry Cook.
Skills

  • Demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills through the ability to diagnose and develop recommended solutions.
  • Prior pastry experience preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds/25 kilograms.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environments.
