Job summary

Cardenas Markets is seeking a Pastry Clerk in California to provide outstanding customer service in a retail bakery setting. You will greet customers, help with orders, and maintain display cases while upholding quality and safety standards.

The role involves assisting with baking breads, cookies, and desserts, operating pastry equipment, and handling in-store food orders. Prior customer service experience is preferred, and a valid Food Handlers Card is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Customer Service and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Organize products in display case and tables while ensuring fully-stocked cases.
• Support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce.
• Maintains standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all Pastry products and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Work with various professional Pastry equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Takes food orders in person and by telephone.
• All other duties as assigned.
