Job description

A renowned bakery in Akron is seeking an experienced and creative Indian Pastry Chef to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute new and innovative recipes for Indian pastries and desserts.
• Create visually appealing and flavorful pastries that meet the standards of our bakery.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Train and supervise other kitchen staff in pastry techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Indian Pastry Chef with a minimum of 3 years in a professional kitchen setting.
• In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian flavours, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to create unique flavour combinations while maintaining authenticity.
• Strong creativity, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited institution.
• Experience working in a high-volume bakery or restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of basic baking principles such as mixing, shaping, proofing, baking temperatures, etc.
• Multilingual skills: English, Hindi preferred but not required.
