Job summary

The herb box in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Pastry Assistant to support the pastry team under the Pastry Sous Chef. You will contribute to the production of all desserts and baked goods, ensuring quality and consistency in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional pastry experience in a high-volume environment.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong baking knowledge and equipment operation.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Sous Chef in daily preparation and production of all dessert items, baked goods, and confectioneries.
• Follow recipes, scaling, measuring, and mixing ingredients for production runs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in pastry area and proper storage of ingredients.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to Pastry Sous Chef.
• Ensure consistency and quality in finished products.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Uphold health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Assist in training and mentoring new or seasonal staff.
