Job summary

Converge Heartland’s pastoral residency program trains men for ministry through three core components including Pastoral Development, Theological Education and Ministry Experience. The resident is an employee of Converge Heartland, with funding processed through Converge Heartland.

Residencies are local church-based programs designed to train men for pastoral ministry, preparing elder-qualified leaders to plant, revitalize, or minister in Heartland and beyond.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates are men who anticipate full-time pastoral ministry.
• Must have undergraduate degree in progress or completed.
• Aspire to the office of elder per 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Benefit from hands-on ministry experience prior to starting a pastorate.

Responsibilities

• Learn the essential functions of pastoral ministry.
• Meet regularly with church leadership for discipleship and formation.
• Grow in the character required of qualified elders.
• Earn your theological degree through partner schools.
• Gain experience in preaching, pastoring, and projects.
• Serve and lead in various ministries.
