Job summary

York Alliance Church in York, PA seeks a Pastor/Director of Next Generation Formation to oversee birth through college/young adult ministry, guiding students, families, staff and volunteers toward mature, passionate disciples of Jesus.

You will develop a long‑term ministry vision, lead an adult leadership team, educate students in God’s Word, and implement discipleship paths in coordination with YAFC, while maintaining strong communication with parents and the church.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students in ministry.
• Strong sense of calling by God to minister to students.
• Some work experience in the secular marketplace is preferred.
• Strong leader with a solid work ethic and ability to administer as a department head.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and implement a vision for Children’s, Student, and College/Young Adult ministries aligned with YAC.
• Teach/educate students on God’s Word.
• Develop ambassadors for Christ through local and global mission trips.
• Develop an adult leadership team and empower leaders; recruit as needed.
• Develop student leaders and utilize them as a leadership development tool.
• Oversee volunteers and staff in line with the ministry vision.
• Oversee key volunteers in college and young adult ministries in line with YAFC.
• Maintain effective communications with parents and the congregation about Student Ministries.
• Oversee a children’s and student safety program including background checks and policies.
• Manage student resources and facility usage.
• Develop and oversee assimilation paths for new children and students at YAC.
• Develop and implement discipleship paths for children, JH/HS, and college students with YAFC.
• Function as a member of the YAC staff and participate in ministry oversight.
• Assist in developing annual departmental budgets and manage spending to budget.
• Establish a Sabbath day and be accountable to it.
• Maintain balance between family life, ministry, and other responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
