Job summary

The Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie is seeking a full-time pastor who embodies warmth, approachability, and deep compassion. You will provide steady pastoral care, offer sermons that connect Scripture with contemporary life, and help shape the church's mission and vision alongside elders and the congregation.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from an accredited seminary.
• Pastoral counseling, visitation, and compassionate care across ages.
• Familiarity with Reformed polity and working with elders and deacons.
• Ability to connect across generations and backgrounds.
• Openness to progressive thinking and inclusive dialogue.

Responsibilities

• Provide steady pastoral care and celebrate with the congregation in joyful seasons.

• Lead worship and collaborate with the congregation on mission and vision.

The Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie is seeking a full-time pastor who embodies warmth, approachability, and deep compassion.

We are looking for:

A leader who offers steady pastoral care, celebrating with us in joyful seasons and walking beside us in times of challenge.

A gifted preacher who communicates the Gospel with clarity, energy, and relevance. Our congregation values sermons that thoughtfully connect Scripture with the realities of modern life. In our church survey, members repeatedly emphasized the importance of addressing present-day issues, navigating the complexities of the world around us, and exploring how timeless Biblical truths speak to contemporary concerns.

An openness to progressive thinking, fresh perspectives, and broad, inclusive dialogue is required. We also seek a pastor with a strong personal faith and a passion for meaningful, well-crafted worship. Our next leader should be eager to partner with the congregation as we continue shaping our mission, priorities, and vision for the future.

Special training/experience desired:
