For more than 235 years, our church has gathered together to worship Jesus Christ, proclaim the Gospel, and seek to faithfully serve God in our community. Established in 1787, we are grateful for the generations of believers who have faithfully carried the Gospel forward – and we are excited about what God may have in store for the years ahead.

Today, we are a congregation of approximately 40 members. We may be a small church but we believe there is great strength in a congregation where people know one another, care for one another, and worship together as a church family. We value biblical teaching, genuine relationships, prayer, and the opportunity to walk alongside one another through every season of life.

What We Believe

We are a Baptist Church holding Reformed convictionsand are committed to the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and trustworthy Word and that it is the foundation of our faith, worship, and daily lives.

We believe in thetriune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Wecenter our faith and ministry on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We believe that sinners are saved through God’s gracious work, and that those who belong to Christ are called to grow in holiness and faithfully follow Him.

Our desire is to be a church where Christ is exalted, Scripture is treasured, the Gospel is proclaimed, and believers are encouraged to live out their faith.

Our Community

Our church is located at 1180 North Main Street in rural Acushnet, Massachusetts, a quiet New England community surrounded by farmland, historic homes, and beautiful countryside. We are conveniently situated in southeastern Massachusetts, within easy reach of New Bedford, the South Coast, Plymouth and Cape Cod.

Our rural setting provides a wonderful opportunity for ministry. We value the history and character of our community while also recognizing the need to reach our neighbors and the next generation with the timeless message of the Gospel.

We are looking for a pastor who desires to preach and teach the Word of God, shepherd God’s people faithfully, encourage spiritual growth, and help our congregation look toward the future while honoring the faithful foundation of those who came before us.

With approximately 40 members, a pastor has the opportunity to know his congregation personally – not simply as names in a directory, but as individuals and families to love, pray for, encourage, and shepherd.

We are a church with a long history, deep roots, and a desire to remain faithful to Christ. We believe our best days are not necessarily behind us. We are praying for God’s direction and looking forward with hope to the ways He may use our church in the years ahead.
