Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Pasteurizer HTST Operator for our Denver milk plant. Based in Denver, CO, the role supports the continuous production of safe, high-quality dairy products. Shifts include 2nd and 3rd, with hourly pay ranging from $27.74 to $32.63.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with other departments and notify management of any issues affecting production efficiency.
• Document all required information in accordance with federal, state, and company policies.
• Monitor fats, solids, allergens, and other related items during processing.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, including CIP and hand cleaning.
• Operate and clean equipment with urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Analyze process and equipment data to improve quality and troubleshoot problems.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures.
• Report food safety and quality issues to management promptly.

Join our team as a Pasteurizer Operator at our energetic milk plant! You will help us to prepare the safest products for our customers; you'll ensure that every drop of milk meets our rigorous standards for freshness and purity you will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to excellence around the clock.

What You Will Be Doing

The position will be based in Denver, CO.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.74 to 32.63 per hour.

Main Responsibilities

• Closely monitor the dairy production process and follow Standard Operating Procedures for batching and processing products.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Federal, State, and Company Laws/Policies.
• Monitor fats, total solids, allergens, and other related items as they associate with processing dairy products.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP & hand cleaning.
• Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow all required work safe practices.
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must always maintain and promote a safe working environment and have a safety-first mindset.
• Follow and maintain 5S standards for work areas and comply with company GMP standards.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous dairy experience is preferred but not required.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Perform basic math with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Stand/ walk almost the entire workday.
