Job summary

Mattel's American Girl Retail team in Los Angeles invites you to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment delivering memorable experiences. You will support party services, answer questions, manage reservations, prepare desserts, and ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere for families and children.

You will coordinate with food vendors, place orders, maintain inventory, and assist with front- and back-of-house tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; undergraduate education preferred.
• Serve Safe certification preferred.
• Experience in high-volume, fine-casual dining or related restaurant preferred.
• Experience with working with children preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience in customer relations, parties, or events.
• Ability to execute games, crafts, and style doll hair.

Responsibilities

• Provide party services and assist customers with party reservations.
• Coordinate with food vendors to meet orders and meet customer demand.
• Manage daily tasks and staff for FOH and BOH areas.
• Place daily/weekly product orders and maintain inventory pars.

Job description

The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. This requires Innovation, Collaboration, and Execution from all who are a part of this division. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced role where you get to make decisions that impact the team as well as our customers.

• Provides party services, answers questions, communicates with party customers via telephone,demonstratingproper doll hair care and skin care techniques,resolvingand recording customer problems, responding to special requests, assessing needs, and offering suggestions.Provides store leadership with party updates such as food selection and number of attendees.
• Works closely with food vendorsto provideaccurateandtimelyorders to meet customer demand.
• Works closely with RSS on party reservations responding to guests within48 hoursoncontact andcreatespartycontractbased on guest input and requests.
• Works with store leadership to create a fair and balanced work schedule for partyteamthat addresses businessneed.
• Places daily and weekly product orders andmaintaininventory pars.
• Display a positive demeanor while working with speed and efficiency.
• Assign and complete daily tasks and side work assignments for FOH and BOH areas in aconsistentlyandtimelymanner.
• Create andmaintaina pleasant ambiance in the dining room and party rooms through lighting, music, and table placement.
• Work with party teams to provide outstanding customer service, including but not limited to: making desserts at the dessert counter (if applicable), servicing and completing to-go transactions (if applicable), making and deliveringfood andbeverages, running food, bussing and resetting tables, dailyclean upto include cleaning of soiled dishes and restocking of service ware. Greeting tables,assistingwith parties and storewidespecial events, stocking supplies, and other projects as requested by a supervisor.
• Follow food safety guidelines, including but not limitedto:proper food labelingand storage, FIFO, foods stored at proper temperature, and avoiding cross-contamination.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines, including but not limitedto: proper knife handling, cut glove policy, and proper equipment use.
• Have knowledge and understanding of local and state health sanitation laws.All health inspections arepassedand accidents are minimal.
• Company guidelines on safety and sanitation are followed for personal hygiene.
• Share information, solve problems, and resolve issues respectfully and collaboratively.
• Seek help and feedback regularly.Be receptive and open to feedback.
• Take initiative to train, teach, andassistothers. Display a positive attitude towards teammates.

• Strong understandingInfogenesisand POS register system.Infogenesisand POS transactions are completed according to company policy.Including but not limitedto: sales transactions, voids, comps, and opening/closing procedures
• Comply withall company policies within the Employee Handbook including the Code of Conduct, dependability standards, availability standards, and staff schedule requirements.
• Report to department at scheduled time and prepared to start duties and responsibilities.

The pay range for this position is between $18.42 and $21.15 per hour.
