Job summary

Terrapin House Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Behavioral Support Professional to join a team providing compassionate ABA-based support to an engaging young adult with autism. You will implement behavior support plans, help with daily living skills, and support community activities.

This role offers flexible weekend hours, competitive pay from 28 to 35 USD per hour, and paid ABA-focused training as part of a collaborative, experienced group.

Qualifications

• Experience using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Supports.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Able to follow behavior support plans and respond calmly to challenging behaviors.
• Engaging, patient, reliable, and enjoys building positive relationships.
• Has a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.

Position Details

• Part-Time Weekend Position


• Flexible 6-hour shifts (not every weekend)


• $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on education and experience

What You'll Do

• Implement Positive Behavior Support and ABA strategies.


• Support community outings, recreation, and meaningful activities.


• Teach and reinforce communication, social, and daily living skills.


• Assist with personal care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed.


• Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of 11 professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Supports.


• Has worked with individuals with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities.


• Can confidently follow behavior support plans and respond calmly to challenging behaviors.


• Is engaging, patient, reliable, and enjoys building positive relationships.


• Has a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.


• Can safely support an adult male with physical and behavioral needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or training in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.


• RBT, TSS, NADD, or other behavioral health certifications are welcomed.


• Experience with alternative communication systems such as PECS or AAC is a plus.
