Job summary

Doggett Equipment Services Group is seeking a Parts Warehouse employee to handle receiving, stocking, and shipping of parts in a busy warehouse environment. The role requires operating a forklift, maintaining accurate logs, and keeping areas clean and organized to safeguard inventory.

Qualified candidates may have 1 year of warehouse experience and strong communication and organizational skills. This is a non-exempt position with duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of company specific software.

Responsibilities

  • Receive parts and verify condition and packing slips.
  • Pack and ship parts to customers and suppliers efficiently.
  • Maintain a log of outgoing shipments and damages/shortages.
  • Stock parts in proper warehouse locations after check-in.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Keep bins, aisles, and storage areas clean and labeled.
  • Assist Warranty Administrator and Inventory Coordinator as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary
The role of Parts Warehouse is to perform a variety of tasks in receiving and shipping parts and maintaining / organizing the warehouse area.

  • Receives parts that are shipped in, making sure that they are received in good condition and that packing slips for inventory control.
  • Packs and ships parts to both customers and suppliers in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintains a log of all outgoing shipments and all shipping and receiving damages or shortages as well as other documents necessary to protect the inventory investment.
  • Stocks all parts into the proper location in the parts warehouse after they have been checked in.
  • Operates a fork lift truck.
  • Keeps all bins, aisles, and storage areas clean, neat, and clearly labeled.
  • Assists Warranty Administrator and Inventory Coordinator when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Typical Physical Activity
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.
Typical Environmental Conditions
Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
