Job summary

MANCON is seeking a Parts Specialist II to provide counter service to VDOT employees, assist with inventory control and data entry, and occasionally drive to pick up parts. This floater role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and familiarity with catalog policies at multiple sites.

The position is hourly, with a pay range of $13.00 to $24.89 per hour. Placement within this range depends on experience, certifications and demonstrated skills aligned with the role requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year computer experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with two years driving experience.
• P1 or P2 ASE Certification or 5 years of experience with auto or heavy-duty truck parts.
• Travel to multiple sites.
• 24-hour availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and assist with parts lookup and ordering.
• Review requisition forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Answer questions regarding availability of parts and pricing.
• Drive to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts and return to MANCON.
• Enter vendor receipts and customer requisitions into inventory systems.

Overview

The Parts Specialist II provides counter service to VDOT employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. The Parts Specialist II will assist with inventory control, data entry in inventory systems, customer service, and may occasionally drive a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts. The Parts Specialist II demonstrates proficiency at sourcing parts, mastery of procedures, and exceptional customer service. Floater position performs work at sites where needed.

This is an hourly position. The pay range for this position is $13.00 to $24.89 per hour. Placement within this range will be based on a combination of relevant experience, certifications, and/or demonstrated skills that align with the role requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide quality customer service to include but not limited to the following:

• Attention to detail
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to Product Group Catalog.
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to MANCON’s SOPs and Safety Manual.
• Meet and greet customers
• Review supplied requisition forms to ensure they are properly completed (Signatures, timestamps, part numbers, descriptions and quantities)
• Answer questions regarding availability of parts
• Ask appropriate questions to ensure correct parts are researched and provided
• Inform customers when requested parts are available

Parts Pick up

• Drive vehicle to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts
• Provide company documentation to vendors as required (tax exempt form, credit references)
• Review all invoices at vendor location to ensure accuracy on pricing and quantities
• Return products to MANCON location in a timely fashion

Data Entry Requirements

• Assist in generating invoices for customer requisitions in the inventory system
• Assist in entry of vendor receiving documents in the inventory system

Inventory Management Requirements

• Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts
• Assist in performing counts during wall-to-wall inventories at site

Other Requirements

• Follow established guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Provide 24-hour support at the VDOT location during emergencies
• Travel to locations to pick up parts
• Assist with inventory research projects as requested
• Adhere to required procedures
• Participate in the SCM continuing training program
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• Uses training, knowledge and experience to research and solve day-to-day issues independently

Physical Requirements
