Job summary

MANCON is seeking a Parts Specialist I in Virginia to provide counter service to VDOT employees and support inventory control, data entry, and customer service. The role may involve driving a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts and requires flexibility for 24-hour operations.

The position is hourly with compensation ranging from $13.00 to $21.94 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated skills relevant to the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with two years driving experience.
• 1 year experience with auto parts or heavy-duty truck parts.
• 24-hour availability during emergency and/or critical operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to include but not limited to the following: attention to detail, review and adhere to catalogs and manuals, meet and greet customers.
• Answer questions regarding availability of parts and ensure correct parts are researched and provided.
• Drive vehicle to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts and review invoices for pricing and quantities.
• Assist in generating invoices and data entry in the inventory system, and perform weekly inventory cycle counts.
• Follow vehicle and equipment maintenance guidelines and participate in training programs.

Overview

The Parts Specialist I provides counter service to VDOT employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. The Parts Specialist I will assist with inventory control, data entry in inventory systems, customer service, and may occasionally drive a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts.

This is an hourly position.

The compensation range for this position is $13.00 to $21.94 per hour. Placement within this range will be based on a combination of relevant experience, certifications, and/or demonstrated skills that align with the role requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide quality customer service to include but not limited to the following:

• Attention to detail
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to Product Group Catalog
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to Policy and Procedures Manual
• Review, familiarize with and adhere to MANCON’s SOPs and Safety Manual
• Meet and greet customers
• Review supplied requisition forms to ensure they are properly completed (Signatures, timestamps, part numbers, descriptions and quantities)
• Answer questions regarding availability of parts
• Ask appropriate questions to ensure correct parts are researched and provided
• Inform customers when requested parts are available

Parts Pick up

• Drive vehicle to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts
• Provide company documentation to vendors as required (tax exempt form, credit references)
• Review all invoices at vendor location to ensure accuracy on pricing and quantities
• Return products to MANCON location in a timely fashion

Data Entry Requirements

• Assist in generating invoices for customer requisitions in the inventory system
• Assist in entry of vendor receiving documents in the inventory system

Inventory Management Requirements

• Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts
• Assist in performing counts during Wall-to-Wall inventories at site

Other Requirements

• Follow established guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Provide 24-hour support during emergency and/or critical operations
• Travel to locations to pick up parts
• Assist with inventory research projects as requested
• Adhere to required procedures
• Participate in the SCM continuing training program
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Delivery Driver experience
• Inventory or warehouse experience
• 1 year computer experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain P1 or P2 ASE certification

Physical Requirements

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
