Job summary

LiftOne is offering a DoD SkillBridge internship for a Parts Specialist. You will triage service orders, assist with parts sales, and support customers throughout the order lifecycle.

The program provides hands-on experience with LiftOne’s parts network and supplier portals. As a DoD SkillBridge participant, you’ll gain practical training, collaborate with the procurement team, learn ERP/ERP-like processes, and explore pathways to full-time opportunities after completion, within LiftOne’s Parts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent completed.
• Basic math, accurate inventory handling, and problem solving.
• Comfort with MS Excel/Office; ERP exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Triages service order requests and supports technicians.
• Provides customer service for inside sales and orders.
• Coordinates with procurement to replenish materials.
• Checks material availability across the network.
• Creates/modifies sales or service orders to meet requirements.
• Assists customers in finding correct parts and processes sales.
• Supports outbound calls to grow parts sales.
• Verifies material accuracy using manuals and vendor data.
• Communicates updates between technicians and procurement.
• Provides backup support to other parts/warehouse tasks.

Position Summary

As a Parts Specialist intern, you will play a vital role in fulfilling parts requests for LiftOne technicians and customers — triaging service order requests, supporting parts sales, and providing customer support throughout the order lifecycle.

What You'll Do During This Internship

• Monitor the parts request ticketing queue and support technicians with timely actions and updates
• Provide customer service for inside sales, walk‑in customers, and incoming orders
• Collaborate with technicians and the procurement team to coordinate material replenishment
• Check material availability across the LiftOne materials network
• Create and modify sales and/or service orders to meet customer requirements for material, quantity, and shipment
• Help customers find the correct parts for their equipment and process sales transactions
• Support outbound sales calls to grow parts sales
• Verify material accuracy using technician manuals, vendor portal information, and part interchange/supersession data
• Communicate order updates between technicians and the procurement team
• Provide backup support to other LiftOne parts/warehouse functions as needed

Skills & Knowledge You'll Gain

• Inventory management and ERP systems (SAP exposure)
• Supply chain and parts replenishment principles
• Customer‑facing sales and service order processing
• Parts lookup, interchange, and vendor portal navigation (Hyster‑Yale, TVH, and others)
• Forklift operation (certification training provided)

Candidate Background

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer‑first attitude and problem‑solving skills
• Basic math skills (counting inventory, case quantities, etc.)
• Comfortable with MS Excel/Office; prior ERP exposure a plus
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs
• Prior technician or parts experience a plus, not required

Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear, with frequent sitting and lifting up to 25 lbs. Depending on site location, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment, and occasionally to weather conditions, dust, or noise typical of a branch/warehouse environment.

Upon successful completion of this SkillBridge internship, candidates may be considered for full‑time employment with LiftOne, with continued enrollment in the Parts Team career development path.
