Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts in Texas is seeking a Parts Specialist to deliver high‑level service to retail, installer, and professional customers, while supporting store management and helping with daily operations. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, processing transactions, maintaining stock and planograms, and providing product knowledge for automotive parts and related items.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time.
• Desired: Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly Index System, and automotive sales or service.
• ASE certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Promote all company customer service programs and related selling strategies.
• Greet retail and installer customers with courtesy and assist in merchandise selection.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers as directed.
• Answer phone inquiries, lookup parts, quote prices, and suggest related items.
• Process cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Handle exchanges and returns according to company policy.
• Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Assist with stock, planogram updates, and daily store tasks.
• Provide in‑store services such as testing batteries and headlights where allowed.
• Drive a delivery vehicle if required and eligible.

Job Summary

The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service, support store management, and assist professional customers as needed. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs, e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, and Rock the Lot.
• Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as directed.
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store on the phone by answering all calls according to company policy, accurately looking up parts and quote prices, recommending premium and related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash and/or checks, make change, and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in a friendly manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Assistance with the completion of daily image maker, planogram updates, freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, cleaning, etc.
• Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns to be shipped to the distribution center, assist with monthly stock adjustments, inventory cycle counts, etc.
• Operate a brake lathe and other store test equipment after corresponding training and company requirements are met.
• Perform in‑store services for customers (where state and local laws allow) such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, testing charging systems, scanning vehicle trouble codes, and replacing headlight capsules.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries (driving record must meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements).
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
