Job summary

Loftin Equipment Co. is seeking a reliable, customer-focused warehouse associate to receive, store, and distribute materials and products. You will work within established policies to support efficient order fulfillment while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Key duties include processing orders, moving materials, and maintaining inventory records. The role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving in a family-owned environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and related systems, plus ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and ability to work well in a team.
  • Builds trust with customers and coworkers; contributes to a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads schedules, orders, and shipping documents to determine items to move or distribute.
  • Conveys materials from receiving to storage or designated areas.
  • Sorts items on racks or shelves by size, type, style, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions and distributes materials and stock items.
  • Assembles customer orders and places them on pallets or packing areas.
  • Marks materials with identifying information and opens containers.
  • Weighs or counts items to ensure accuracy and conformance to standards.
  • Uses computer systems to enter records and track inventory.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from purchase orders.
  • Drives vehicle to transport items between warehouses and plants.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from vendors.
  • Handles phone orders and counter sales; maintains inventory records.

Job Summary:

Receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within established policies and procedures for organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including the following.

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer purchase orders.
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from vendors.
  • Phone orders & counter sales.
  • Maintains inventory records. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience/Education/Skills:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office 360 and other Microsoft products/systems. Strong technical aptitude, including ability to learn new systems quickly and train/support team in adoption.
  • Strong communication skills, to include written, oral and active listening; clear and persuasive in negative or positive situations; asks relevant questions to get clarification; conveys thoughts and ideas in a concise manner; responds well to questions and feedback; demonstrates group participation skills.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers (internal and/or external) and coworkers; establishes confidence and shares knowledge with others.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; contributes to building a positive team environment; supports everyone's efforts to succeed; recognizes accomplishments of other team members.
