Summary

This position is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and proper handling of incoming materials and parts. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safe material handling practices, and proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, parts, and components for accuracy, quality, and damage.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or damaged shipments to the appropriate department.
  • Safely store materials in designated areas, maintaining organization and accessibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials received, parts produced, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines when handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Assist in inventory management, including tracking stock levels, labeling, and organizing parts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications
Education Requirement
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Vocational training or coursework in manufacturing, machining, or materials handling is a plus but not required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills necessary for interpreting work orders, measuring parts, and recording data.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings or blueprints is preferred.

  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity for lifting, moving, and positioning materials as required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience
  • Experience with receiving, inspecting, and handling materials or parts.
  • Familiarity with reading technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders.
