Core Responsibilities

Mercedes-Benz of San Juan is looking for a highly motivated Parts Manager for our growing Parts Department. The Parts Manager is responsible for profitability in the department along with maintaining two separate parts inventories. To achieve this, they must effectively manage parts department personnel, have a strong knowledge of the automotive parts industry, and an in-depth understanding of financial data. This individual generates additional revenue to the dealership through careful scrutiny and oversight of parts inventory mix and volume, purchasing policies, merchandising and quality control. Mercedes-Benz parts management experience preferred.

Job Duties (include but are not limited to)
  • Hire, train and supervise Parts Department employees.
  • Increase sales and gross profits.
  • Inspire and motivate team to attain goals.
  • Monitor lost sales.
  • Maintain policies and procedures for parts special orders.
  • Verify parts are properly tagged.
  • Collaborate with Service and Body Shop Managers to create efficient turnaround to fulfill their demand.
  • Attend manager meetings.
  • Resolve customer complaints, enlisting manufacturer assistance when necessary.
  • Develop new customer prospects.
  • Keep proper documentation as stipulated by manufacturer and General Manager.
  • Develop efficient department layout.
  • Review shipping/receiving procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Properly manage inventory turns.
  • Maintain proper fill rates.

Core Responsibilities:

Develop Parts Department annual operating budgets, set measurable goals and objectives, and develop strategies to achieve them.

Requirements
  • Education – Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are operated in a safe manner at all times.
  • Be professional and courteous in attitude, wardrobe and grooming.
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools and advancements, and make appropriate purchase recommendations.
  • Be capable of speaking with customers or employees; reading/understanding manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety regulation; and writing financial/marketing reports and other correspondence.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered.
  • Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 1 year.
Hours
  • Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:15 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • This is a full-time position, working approximately 50 hours per week.
Compensation
  • Starting at $60k salary.
  • Potential to make $120k-130k a year.
