Job summary

HERITAGE TRACTOR LLC in Mendota, IL is seeking a Parts Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring excellent service to customers and efficient inventory control.

You will lead a team, drive departmental goals within budget, manage warranty processing, and collaborate with other departments to support dealership operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in dealership Parts Department operations.
  • Experience leading or coordinating the work of a parts team is preferred.
  • Experience with dealership parts inventory management systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet-based business systems.
  • Knowledge of dealership parts operations, inventory control, warranty processing, and purchasing practices.
  • Ability to analyze operational reports and use data to support sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Parts Department to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain efficient department processes that support inventory accuracy, timely parts availability, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Work toward achieving monthly and annual department goals while operating within established budgets and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement department marketing initiatives and monitor results to support sales objectives.
  • Manage perpetual and annual physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Process and monitor parts warranty claims, returns, and credits within required timelines.
  • Maximize participation in available vendor purchasing and discount programs.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain qualified team members in partnership with dealership leadership.
  • Maintain staffing plans, employee development plans, and succession planning tools, including the department depth chart.
  • Ensure department tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in safe and working condition.
  • Support dealership operations by assisting with incoming phone calls and customer inquiries as needed.

Purpose:The Parts Manager oversees the daily operations of the dealership's Parts Department to support customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and profitable parts sales. This role is responsible for maintaining effective department processes, managing inventory, supporting financial performance, and leading department team members.
