Job summary

Alloy Automotive Partners in Boulder, CO is seeking a Parts Manager to help the shop reach its gross profit goals by negotiating with vendors to secure the best prices and by ensuring clients receive excellent service as the backbone of the repair shop office.

The role covers parts ordering, vendor relations, shop administration, quotes and invoices, and occasional sales support, with emphasis on accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of practical management experience, including leading people.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance.
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the company’s insurance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic accounting and mathematical calculations.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendars, and project management software.
  • Ability to lift more than 25 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering Parts: Negotiate with vendors and shop for best prices; build relationships with parts reps.
  • Office Support: Provide customer service and administrative duties (phones, errands, check-in/out, front desk).
  • Preparing Paperwork: Create quotes, invoices, and documents using Shop Management Software.
  • Sales: Assist in selling repairs and services under guidance of a Service Advisor or GM.

Description

The Parts Manager has two primary purposes. First, this role helps the shop reach its gross profit goals by ordering parts at the best possible prices by negotiating with vendors to secure the best price. The second purpose of this role is to ensure clients get great service by being the “backbone” of the repair shop office.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Primary:
  • Ordering Parts: Partnering with Vendors to secure high-quality parts for repairs at the best possible prices. This includes negotiation with vendors and shopping multiple vendors for the best price. This position will build good working relationships with parts vendor reps.
  • Office Support: Perform a variety of customer service and administrative duties as needed by the shop. This may include such things as answering phones, running various errands, updating the workflow-board, checking-in/out customers, cleaning the office, assisting customers at the counter, performing callbacks to previous clients, helping with customer loaner cars and other tasks as directed by business need.
Secondary:
  • Preparing Paperwork: Create quotes, invoices, and other documents for customers or vendors using Shop Management Software.
  • Sales: When needed, assisting in selling repairs and services to customers under the guidance of a Service Advisor or General Manager.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of practical management experience, including demonstrated success leading and managing people.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance.
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or administrative position.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the requirements of the company’s insurance policy.
  • Ability to safely operate various vehicles with passengers and get into and out of vehicles without assistance.
  • Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing, including by phone, email, typed communication, and handwritten communication.
  • Ability to perform basic accounting and mathematical calculations.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendars, and project management software.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks on time in a fast-paced environment with frequent distractions and interruptions.
  • Ability to lift more than 25S pounds without assistance.
