Job summary

Mercedes Benz of Little Rock is seeking a Parts Driver to deliver automotive parts and provide exceptional customer service. You will load the parts truck, plan efficient routes, and communicate with customers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery status.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and familiarity with Reynolds and Reynolds software for order entry and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with a friendly, professional attitude and handle inquiries via multiple channels.
• Load parts truck for delivery, plan efficient routes, and log daily deliveries and pickups.
• Coordinate last-minute deliveries with parts manager and locate parts within the department.
• Process part orders accurately, verify availability, and provide updates to customers.
• Enter orders and verify prices in Reynolds and Reynolds system.
• Review customer requests for parts and provide pricing and information.
• Follow up on back orders and inform customers of status with current information.
• Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup as needed.
• Maintain records of repair orders, invoices, and related documents.
• Build professional relationships with distributors, dealers, service centers, and customers.
• Collect payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization as needed.
• Follow all laws when operating company vehicle and perform duties ethically.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Parts Driver is responsible for providing outstanding customer service by communicating effectively with all customers. Ensuring accurate information when delivering parts, providing estimates, status updates, and other information that may be requested.

• Greet and assist all customers with a friendly upbeat professional attitude, providing outstanding service. Assure assistance for any retail purchases (via telephone, email, in-person, etc.)
• Properly load the parts truck for delivery ensuring the most efficient and effective route and keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pickups.
• Coordinate last-minute pickups or deliveries by communicating with the parts manager. Locate all parts within the department and maintain knowledge of use and installation techniques.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient and timely processing of part orders within the guidelines of the company’s policies and procedures, and by checking parts availability. Provide high-level service to both internal and external customers.
• Verify prices and enter orders through the Reynolds and Reynolds system.
• Analyze customer requests for parts; provide parts information and prices as requested.
• Responsible for following up on back orders by checking with other sources to determine the status of orders and provide customers with current and accurate information.
• Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up as needed.
• Keep records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, special order parts, etc.
• Establish a professional relationship with distributors, dealers, service centers, consumers, all department employees, and customers to notify them of parts availability and shipment dates. Provide updated information on pending orders.
• Collects payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization as necessary.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating a company vehicle.
• Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner
• Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

• Work experience in parts or a related field; dealership experience preferred.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Frequently required to climb; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
