Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing, MI is seeking a friendly, motivated Parts Driver to join our team. This role requires a valid driver’s license, delivery driving experience, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining high accuracy in parts handling.

We offer a full-time schedule with options of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday, no weekends, competitive pay, and strong growth opportunities within a family-owned dealership.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience or training; equivalent combo.
• Language Skills: Read safety rules, write routine reports, communicate with customers and team members.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to follow written or diagram instructions; solve problems with multiple variables.
• Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Medical Examiner’s Certification within 30 days of hire.

• Drive in a safe and courteous manner.
• Utilize dispatch software for all deliveries.
• Write up all returns for credits daily.

Position Summary

Shaheen Chevrolet is seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Parts Driver to join our team.

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-starting, able to multi-task, and has delivery driving experience.

Valid Driver’s License and Chauffeur’s License are required.

Medical Card Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Full Time

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Maintain a high level of grooming, shaven, and uniform appearance

Perform other duties and tasks as directed by management

Ensure all invoices are signed and/or payment is received before parts are given to customers

Inform management of any customer complaints daily

Tie down and secure any loose freight before starting deliveries

Check all invoices against supplied manifests to verify parts for current route

Mark all parts with ID tags if necessary

Deliver all receipts, cash, checks, and credits to dispatcher at the end of every run

Report to the dispatcher at the beginning and end of every run for route assignment

Place truck keys in the key box at the end of the day

Obtain and return gas cards with receipts on the same day

Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors

Check with the dispatch clerk before leaving for last-minute pick-ups or deliveries

Check payments received against invoices for each delivery

Unload truck each night and turn in all paperwork to the dispatch clerk

Handle basic maintenance of the truck, including fueling, checking oil, cleaning, and ensuring inspections are up to date

Advise dispatch clerk if delivery truck needs repairs or maintenance

Qualifications

Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED

One to three months of related experience and/or training

Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions

Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Ability to obtain Medical Examiner’s Certification within 30 days of hire

Physical Demands

Regularly required to:

Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds

Specific vision abilities required:

Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Regularly exposed to:

Toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions

Occasionally exposed to:

Wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and explosives
