Job summary

Transwest Inc. is seeking a Parts Driver to ensure prompt delivery of truck parts to customers in the area. You will be trained in all areas of the parts department and gain familiarity with delivery processes. Advancement opportunities are available for dependable and motivated employees.

Description

As a Parts Driver you will be responsible for prompt delivery of truck parts from our facility to customers throughout the area in a small pick-up truck or box truck. In this position, you will also be trained in all other areas of the parts department. Advancement opportunities are available for dependable and motivated employees!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledge of the local area.
• Proper and professional greeting upon arrival.

• Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc.

• Safely load, secure, unload and stage materials throughout the delivery process.
• Proficiently deal with unexpected circumstances.
• Basic knowledge of vehicles and an ability to communicate all maintenance and safety concerns to the Supervisor.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to attend work as scheduled and be punctual.
• Material handling while stocking and delivering parts.
• Require lift trucks certification and basic knowledge of warehousing equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Activities require a full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• The position may require standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs., and/or 50 lbs. frequently.
• Driving a small pick-up truck or box truck 60% of the time.
• The position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
• Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
• Ability to understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
• Require lift trucks certification and basic knowledge of warehousing equipment.
• Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
• Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good motor vehicle record.
• Warehouse and Parts Counter experience is a plus.

• They must be able to understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them.
• Basic computer skills.
• They must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people and may be frequently called upon to handle difficult situations.
• Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
