Vanguard Truck Centers in Franklin, KY is seeking an entry-level parts delivery driver to deliver and pick up parts and equipment for the dealership, customers, satellite stores, and vendors. You will verify purchase orders against invoices, log daily deliveries, and obtain signatures on delivery entries.

You will unload trucks at night, keep paperwork organized, and coordinate with the parts team on repairs or maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry level position, on-the-job training available.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Must wear safety footwear from day one.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and picks up parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
• Checks with the parts manager or shipping/receiving before leaving to coordinate last-minute pickups or deliveries.
• Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each delivery.
• Checks payments received with invoices for each delivery.
• Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pickup activities with signatures.
• Unloads truck each night and turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
• Performs basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, and cleanliness.
• Notifies the parts manager if trucks need major repairs or maintenance.
• Supports maintaining a professional appearance of the parts department.

Summary

Delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership.

Essential Duties

• Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
• Checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
• Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
• Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
• Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
• Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
• Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
• Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
• Helps maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
• Maintains professional personal appearance.

Entry level

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
