Job description

Bring your skills to the 2020 Kenworth Dealer of the Year! Kenworth Sales Company, a 37-location Kenworth and Isuzu truck dealership group, is looking for a Parts Counter Sales Representative to join our Ashland, VA team.

Job Summary:

Handle internal and external customer requests for parts purchases, both in person and on the telephone.

Note: Due to federally mandated DOT regulations, Kenworth Sales Company is a drug-free workplace. Any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screening.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Wait on customers or mechanics at parts counter or on the phone
  2. Research customers’ requests and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed
  3. If part(s) is in stock, produce invoice from computer system; if not in stock and customer wants to order, create Purchase Order and process orders
  4. Check in orders and receive Purchase Orders in the business system
  5. Assist with inventory and core returns to vendors, including pulling, packing, and shipping
  6. Restock shelves and maintain parts bins, e.g., rearranging parts, cleaning, labeling
  7. Deliver parts to customers as needed
  8. Assist with annual parts inventory physical count, including counting and tallying
  9. Assist Parts Manager with miscellaneous tasks
  10. Complete all required job-related training
Qualifications:
  1. 1-2 years heavy-duty truck parts experience
  2. Mechanical aptitude desirable
  3. Understanding of office procedures, including filing, correspondence, and basic accounting
  4. Knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, heavy and medium-duty diesel truck parts
  5. Excellent organization and communication skills
  6. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  7. Professional personal appearance
  8. Computer terminal data input and 10-key calculator skills; minimal computer aptitude desirable
  9. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information
  10. High school diploma or equivalent
