Job Summary

The Partnership Manager, Tax is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to Pass‑Through clients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform tax planning, preparation, and research for Pass‑Through businesses; manage client engagements; supervise and review the work of team staff; collaborate with clients, internal managers, and partners.
  • Write books and records and compose written tax advice or responses to IRS inquiries.
  • Contribute to client satisfaction by delivering timely services and high‑quality work product.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of tax concepts and actively pursue increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments.
  • Compliance—ensure clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens; review tax returns and resolve issues; communicate issues to clients and Assurance; plan and review tax processes; budget and staffing; monitor engagement time versus budget; manage billing, out‑of‑scope activity, and collections; manage client relationships and provide timely advice.
  • Research—identify when research is needed; clearly frame issues and report analysis; apply firm standards; involve specialists when appropriate.
  • Strategy Development—introduce and develop new or improved ideas to improve client, firm, or personnel positions; review tax implications; offer alternative courses of action; share lessons learned.
  • Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Build and train a team of professionals; supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
  • Review work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide review comments.
  • Train associates and seniors on current software tools.
  • Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
  • Schedule and manage workload of associates and senior associates.
  • Provide verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in Taxation (preferred)
Experience
  • Five (5) plus years of public accounting experience working in the private client area (individual, estate, partnership, S‑corporation, trust, and private foundation tax/consulting clients) required
License/Certifications
  • CPA certification (required)
Software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation
  • California: $110,000 – $150,000
  • Colorado: $95,000 – $130,000
  • Illinois: $105,000 – $130,000
  • Maryland: $113,000 – $120,000
  • Massachusetts: $120,000 – $130,000
  • Minnesota: $90,000 – $120,000
  • New Jersey: $115,000 – $140,000
  • NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $125,000 – $150,000
  • Washington: $95,000 – $125,000
  • Washington DC: $120,000 – $140,000
