Job summary

STS Technical Services in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen supplier performance and reduce quality escapes across the supply chain. You will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and purchasing to implement process-based improvements and preventive actions.

The role focuses on supplier audits, PPAP/FAI, and data-driven decision making to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a technical field with 5 years of supplier quality experience, or an associate degree with 10 years of experience.
• Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, Gage R&R, CTQ, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto, and control charts is a plus.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, paint, and electrical/mechanical assembly is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools; ERP experience with Epicor and SharePoint is a plus.
• CQE or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust Receiving Inspection plan based on supplier quality performance and risk.
• Lead on-site supplier audits and evaluate processes to ISO 9001 standards.
• Monitor supplier performance and analyze quality escape trends to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to investigate quality issues and implement preventive actions.
• Support supplier process validation activities including FAI, PPAP, and Gage R&R.
