Job summary

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is seeking a Programs Services Manager to lead the Partner Relationship Coordinators and the Community Data Coordinator, strengthening partnerships and expanding capacity across our 26-county region.

You will oversee onboarding, data-informed evaluation, and collaborative initiatives with Programs and Community Partners leadership to identify community needs and deliver targeted capacity-building resources and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required or preferred.
  • Minimum of three years supervising staff including coaching and development.
  • Experience in program development, project management, and community engagement.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations or nonprofit partners preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Position Summary

The Partner Services Manager advances the St. Louis Area Foodbank's vision of a nutritionally secure Missouri and Illinois by strengthening relationships with community partners and expanding the capacity of the Foodbank's partner network. This position provides leadership and direction to the Partner Relationship Coordinators and Community Data Coordinator and works collaboratively across departments to identify community needs, strengthen partner capacity, and expand access to resources throughout the Foodbank's 26-county service area.

The Partner Services Manager builds authentic relationships with community partners and stakeholders, evaluates the effectiveness of capacity-building efforts, identifies trends and opportunities for collaboration, and develops solutions responsive to the unique needs of the communities we serve. The Manager provides leadership and oversight for the implementation and ongoing utilization of Service Insights, in partnership with the Community Data Coordinator, to strengthen data collection, evaluation, and data-informed decision-making across the service area. The Manager also oversees efforts to identify, vet, onboard, and support new partners throughout the Foodbank's service area.

Objectives
  • Develop and oversee a capacity-building strategy that strengthens the Foodbank's partner network and evolves in response to the changing needs of our neighbors and communities.
  • Support program outreach and expansion efforts focused on specialized populations, including seniors, children, and Veterans.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the implementation, adoption, and ongoing utilization of Service Insights across the Foodbank's service area in collaboration with the Community Data Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with Programs and Community Partners leadership to identify communities requiring increased service capacity and work with Partner Relationship Coordinators to develop and implement appropriate solutions, including strengthening existing partners or recruiting new partners.
  • Ensure prospective partner inquiries are effectively managed and established processes for partner vetting, onboarding, and support are consistently followed.
  • Identify trends in partner and community needs and collaborate with the Programs team to develop capacity-building resources, trainings, and tools.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, goal setting, performance management, and ongoing professional development to Partner Relationship Coordinators and the Community Data Coordinator.
Responsibilities
  • Research, identify, evaluate, and onboard appropriate new partners when additional access points, capacity, or program expansion is needed, ensuring partnerships support the Foodbank's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure partner compliance with applicable government requirements, Feeding America standards, St. Louis Area Foodbank policies, and other relevant regulations and operating guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to agency partnerships, partner training, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Assess existing partner relationships and identify opportunities to strengthen and expand partner capacity and community impact.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and engagement of the Partner Committee while cultivating partner collaboration, recognition, communication, and feedback.
  • Supervise the day-to-day work of Partner Relationship Coordinators and the Community Data Coordinator, including establishing goals, providing coaching and feedback, supporting professional development, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships throughout the Foodbank's service territory and utilize relevant community data to understand local resources, capacity, challenges, opportunities, and other factors affecting food and nutrition security.
  • Assist with network and neighbor needs assessments, surveys, and other feedback opportunities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive partner communication strategy, including in-person partner meetings, digital communications, and maintenance of partner-facing web resources.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify desired outcomes and develop meaningful metrics that support program effectiveness, philanthropic efforts, communications, and appropriate program resourcing. Ensure applicable grant deliverables are achieved.
  • Represent the Foodbank in the community, including at meetings, collaborative initiatives, and public speaking engagements. Build relationships with community stakeholders and facilitate cross-departmental connections that advance the Foodbank's mission.
  • Identify opportunities within existing and prospective relationships to create holistic partnerships that address community needs and advance efforts to end hunger.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain annual departmental work plans, including budgets, calendars, goals, standard operating procedures, and key initiatives.
  • Partner with departmental leadership to develop, refine, and execute the Foodbank's Strategic Direction.
  • Identify opportunities to meaningfully incorporate volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members into relationship management activities and work occurring at partner sites.
  • Provide oversight and direction to volunteers, interns, and other supplemental team members as applicable.
  • Assist and support the Foodbank's Disaster Response Team as needed.
  • Attend relevant trainings, conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit administration, public health, social work, business, community development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff, including experience supporting employees in achieving increased levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, project management, community engagement, and/or relationship management.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations, nonprofit partners, or human services programs preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

  • Must have reliable transportation, maintain required automobile insurance, and be willing and able to travel throughout the Foodbank's 26-county service area, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
Work Schedule

This role follows a Monday through Friday schedule during standard business hours and is primarily onsite to support collaboration and operations. As an eligible position under our Work From Home policy, this role offers the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week after 90 days of employment. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support events and community engagement activities.

Work Environment

The St. Louis Area Foodbank operates on a dynamic, single-campus environment that brings together our office spaces, warehouse, Volunteer Center, and Agency Dock-all in one location. Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, with extended periods of sitting, computer use, and communication. This integrated environment offers regular interaction across teams and mission-driven operations, with occasional exposure to active work areas, including forklift activity. The role may require frequent walking between spaces, including on concrete surfaces, as well as standing, bending, and reaching as needed. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 20 pounds may be required. Frequent interaction occurs in person, by phone, and through virtual platforms.
