Job summary

Clayton Manufacturing in Alabama is seeking Home Building Team Members to support the production of homes. You will follow standard production methods, observe OSHA regulations, and work to meet sales orders, prints, and building codes with high quality and timeliness.

The role requires physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs, willingness to transfer between departments, and clear communication with teammates.

Qualifications

• Willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and lift at least 50lbs.
• Ability to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
• Reading architectural and engineering drawings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Practice safe work habits and follow OSHA regulations to maintain efficient, safe production.
• Productivity: Work in a team to produce products meeting quality standards and productivity goals.
• Stewardship: Protect company assets, report maintenance needs, and keep area clean and orderly.
• Planning: Assist Team Leader to plan and organize manufacturing activities and communicate material shortages or quality issues.
• Attendance: Meet start-time and attendance requirements as per division rules.

Home Building Team Members perform the manufacturing production operations assigned to their team in the home building process. The position follows standard production methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Production teams ensure that all homes meet sales orders, prints, specifications, and building codes, while ensuring a high-quality standard in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safety: Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.
• Productivity: Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to our quality standards while achieving our productivity objectives.
• Stewardship: Serve as a good steward of our company's physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting all needed maintenance, keeping your assigned area clean, and orderly.
• Planning: Assist your Team Leader and Area Coordinator to plan and organize the manufacturing activities in your area by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues.
• Attendance: Meet all attendance requirements, available for start of shift at required time, following the attendance rules and regulations of the division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Versatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and lift at least 50lbs, as well as other physical duties as needed
• You must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
• The ability to read architectural and engineering drawings is greatly desired.
