Job summary

Apis Services, Inc. seeks a Partial Care Counselor to provide direct counseling and rehabilitation services to adults in the Partial Care program.

You will work under supervision to support wellness and recovery through individual support, group facilitation, and service coordination. You will maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program quality improvement and organizational performance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field with at least 1 year of mental health experience.
  • Associate's degree with at least 3 years of experience in a human services field.
  • Five years of experience in a human services-related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services that promote consumer wellness, recovery, and community integration.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented groups.
  • Provide individual support and counseling to assigned consumers.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with consumers and support recovery-focused goals.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric providers, clinical staff, and external service providers to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and seek additional guidance when needed.
  • Attend and actively participate in case conferences, staff meetings, trainings, committees, and agency initiatives.
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Coordinate referrals and establish linkages with community resources, including housing, vocational services, psychotherapy, public assistance, and other supportive programs.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices, treatment approaches, and recovery-oriented interventions.
  • Provide co-occurring substance use services or pre-vocational services when assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, professional ethics, regulatory requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Support agency billing and collection efforts by discussing outstanding balances and financial responsibilities with consumers as appropriate.
  • Contribute to agency quality improvement efforts and performance outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Partial Care Counselor provides direct supportive counseling and rehabilitation services to adults participating in the Partial Care program. Working under the supervision of the Director of Partial Care and Clinical Education or designee, this role supports consumers in their wellness and recovery journey through individual support, group facilitation, service coordination, and treatment planning.

The Partial Care Counselor is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation and actively contributing to program quality improvement and organizational performance initiatives.

Minimum QualificationsEducation & Experience

One of the following is required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field and at least one (1) year of experience in the mental health field; OR
  • Associate's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field and three (3) years of experience in a human services-related field; OR
  • Five (5) years of experience in a human services-related field.
Additional Qualifications (As Applicable)

For positions serving individuals with co-occurring disorders:

  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience and training in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

For positions providing pre-vocational services:

  • One (1) year of experience in vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, job coaching, vocational evaluation, welfare-to-work programs, community rehabilitation services, transitional employment, or similar programs; and/or formal training or certification in vocational rehabilitation services.

  • Knowledge of mental health recovery principles and community-based behavioral health services.
  • Ability to facilitate groups and provide supportive counseling services.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records, computer systems, and related documentation platforms.
  • Ability to organize workload, prioritize responsibilities, and meet documentation deadlines.
