Job summary

Cannettic Energy is seeking a part-time Youth Gymnastics Coach to lead safe, engaging enrichment classes for kindergarten through sixth grade. This in‑person role is based at Oceanside or Vista, CA with approximately 1–5 classes per week and pay ranging from $20 to $40 per hour, dependent on experience.

Ideal candidates have gymnastics experience, enjoy working with children, and can manage 12–20 students per class.

Qualifications

• Professional gymnastics coaching or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of beginner and intermediate gymnastics skills.
• Dance, cheer, choreography experience preferred.
• Experience with elementary-aged children.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Willing to complete required background clearances and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Create organized, progressive, and age‑appropriate lesson plans for each one‑hour class.
• Include clear skill goals, warm‑ups, equipment setup, stations, and progressions.
• Lead cardio warm‑ups, stretching, strength exercises, gymnastics stations, and cool‑downs.
• Teach proper technique, body positioning, safety habits, and gymnastics terminology.
• Demonstrate skills clearly before students begin.
• Use safe progressions and spotting techniques within your training and experience.
• Adapt activities for different ages and abilities.
• Support beginners while challenging more experienced students.
• Maintain positive classroom management for 12–20 students.
• Establish clear expectations and keep instructions concise.

Dance & Cheer Experience Preferred

Locations: Oceanside and Vista, CA
Position Type: Part-time, in person
Pay: $20–$40 per hour, based on relevant professional experience
Grade Levels: Kindergarten–6th grade
Class Length: One hour
Expected Schedule: Approximately 1–5 classes per week, based on coach availability and program needs

Current Class Opportunities

• Vista: Mondays, with class options available between 12:30 and 3:30 PM (two-three back to back classes)
• Oceanside: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 2:30–3:30 PM (one class each day)
• San Marcos: Thursdays 12:50-3:00 (two back to back classes)

Cannettic Energy is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Youth Gymnastics Coach to lead safe, structured, and exciting enrichment classes for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

This is a gymnastics-focused position. Experience in dance, cheer, choreography, or tumbling is strongly preferred and may create opportunities to support additional Cannettic Energy programs, special events, performances, and summer camps.

Our ideal coach brings strong gymnastics knowledge, positive energy, age-appropriate instruction, and excellent classroom management. The coach must be self‑motivated, organized, professional, and prepared to independently lead approximately 12–20 active students.

About Our Gymnastics Program

Cannettic Energy gymnastics classes help students develop:

Classes may include:

• Cardio warm‑ups and dynamic stretching
• Strength and flexibility exercises
• Forward and backward rolls
• Handstands and headstands
• Cartwheels and round‑offs
• Bridges, kick‑overs, and walkover progressions
• Balance‑beam activities
• Bar fundamentals
• Air‑track and floor‑tumbling stations
• Springboard, vault, and trampoline fundamentals
• Choreographed floor combinations

Skills should always be taught using safe, progressive instruction based on each student’s age, experience, and readiness.

Gymnastics Coach Responsibilities

• Create organized, progressive, and age‑appropriate lesson plans for each one‑hour class
• Include clear skill goals, warm‑ups, equipment setup, stations, and progressions
• Lead cardio warm‑ups, stretching, strength exercises, gymnastics stations, and cool‑downs
• Teach proper technique, body positioning, safety habits, and gymnastics terminology
• Demonstrate skills clearly before students begin
• Use safe progressions and appropriate spotting techniques within your training and experience
• Adapt activities for students with different ages, abilities, confidence levels, and gymnastics experience
• Support beginners while continuing to challenge more experienced students
• Maintain positive classroom management for approximately 12–20 students
• Establish a consistent attention cue and clear expectations from the beginning of class
• Keep instructions concise, demonstrate each station, and confirm that students understand before beginning
• Actively circulate and provide every student with meaningful coaching, encouragement, and feedback
• Keep students safely engaged instead of waiting in long lines or remaining inactive
• Select only age‑appropriate movements, choreography, themes, and clean music
• Inspect and safely organize gymnastics equipment during the scheduled work period
• Immediately report damaged equipment, student injuries, safety concerns, or operational issues
• Check students in using the program roster and maintain accurate attendance
• Follow all school‑site check‑in, dismissal, and authorized pick‑up procedures
• Walk students to the designated pick‑up location at each school site
• Communicate professionally with students, families, school staff, and the Cannettic Energy team
• Share brief updates about the skills students are learning and accomplishing
• Arrive prepared, organized, and ready to coach
• Account for traffic and parking so you are on‑site and ready to clock in at the scheduled start time
• Accurately clock in and out through our app platform during the assigned time block

Ideal Qualifications

• Professional gymnastics coaching, competitive gymnastics, tumbling, acrobatics, or related experience
• Strong understanding of beginner and intermediate gymnastics skills and progressions
• Experience safely demonstrating, teaching, and spotting age‑appropriate skills
• Experience working with elementary‑aged children
• Dance, cheer, choreography, or performance experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to create structured, progressive, and engaging lesson plans
• Strong leadership, classroom‑management, communication, and time‑management skills
• Confident independently managing approximately 12–20 active students
• Energetic, encouraging, dependable, self‑motivated, and professional
• Patient and able to provide repeated guidance without discouraging students
• Comfortable setting up equipment and remaining physically active throughout class
• Able to model movements and assist students within the physical requirements of the role
• Reliable transportation to the assigned Oceanside or Vista location
• Consistent availability for the agreed‑upon weekly schedule

A college degree is not required if the applicant can demonstrate strong gymnastics knowledge, safe coaching practices, youth‑teaching experience, and the ability to successfully manage a class.

Experience with after‑school enrichment programs, gymnastics studios, cheer programs, dance studios, recreation programs, or summer camps is preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification and gymnastics safety or coaching certifications are preferred. Applicants must be willing to complete all required background clearances, safety training, and program onboarding before beginning work.
