Peoria Park District at Riverplex Recreation & Wellness Center in Peoria, IL is seeking a part-time Yoga Instructor to lead diverse yoga classes and develop curricula for multiple levels. You will ensure safe, fluid sessions and guide students toward their wellness goals.

The role requires active yoga certification, First Aid/CPR eligibility, and 1–3 years of teaching experience. Weekend availability and a calm, professional presence are essential for success in this setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current yoga certification; ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• 1–3 years of yoga instructor experience preferred.
• Must be calm, positive, and able to work after-hours and weekends; maintain professionalism and safety.

Responsibilities

• Create a curriculum and lead groups through various levels and types of yoga practice.
• Provide proper sequencing in class to ensure a smooth, fluid session.
• Demonstrate proper technique and practices.
• Lead students on breathing, stretching, meditation, and mindfulness for overall wellbeing.
• Assist students with alignment and assess their level of practice.
• Work with students on fitness goals and progress.
• Motivate students with encouragement; set up the studio for class.
• Engage in administrative duties and follow safety procedures; perform other duties as required.
