Job summary

The Harper College Community Music and Arts Center seeks a part-time writing instructor to teach group classes for adults and children, starting January 2026. Employment depends on enrollment and may include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include teaching weekly non-credit classes, developing lesson plans, and assessing students. Collaboration with colleagues and use of Blackboard and online tools are expected.

Qualifications

• Formal training and degrees in your discipline required, with at least a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of successful teaching experience in a college or music school environment.
• Advanced proficiency in multiple writing styles is expected.
• Experience teaching online and proficiency with virtual meeting applications mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly non-credit group classes for adults and children.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional quality and engagement.
• Develop lesson plans and administer student assessments.
• Integrate technology and deliver courses in In-Person, Self-Paced, Online Live, and Hybrid formats.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and contribute to program marketing and outreach, including social media.
