Job summary

Rowan-Salisbury Schools Corriher Lipe Middle School in Landis, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the head coach and athletic director in delivering a safe, engaging program for middle school students.

You will supervise staff, coordinate practices, promote sportsmanship, oversee equipment, and mentor student athletes. Starting date is immediately; this part-time, on-site role reports to the athletic director and principal.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (preferable).
• The assistant coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The assistant coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Rowan Salisbury Schools Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the team’s staff of the sports program.
• Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
• Established the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by assistants. Designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance.
