Job summary

Central Carolina Technical College seeks a temporary Welding Lab Assistant to support the daily operation of the Welding Program. You will assist instructors and students in the welding lab and help prepare materials.

Role includes safety inspections, PPE enforcement, and maintenance of welding equipment, with duties in inventory, unloading materials, and keeping the lab orderly and safe.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of common welding processes and hand/power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with students and faculty.
• Knowledge of welding shop safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors and students in the welding lab.
• Prepare and distribute welding materials.
• Assist with basic welding and cutting activities as directed by faculty.
• Inspect the lab for safety concerns; enforce PPE and shop safety requirements.
• Maintain, clean, and repair welding equipment and tools.
• Assist with inventory and tool room organization; receive and unload materials.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized welding laboratory.

Job Responsibilities

Central Carolina Technical College is seeking a temporary WeldingLab Assistant to support the daily operation of the WeldingProgram. Responsibilities include assisting instructors andstudents in the welding lab; preparing and distributing weldingmaterials; assisting students with basic welding and cuttingactivities as directed by faculty; inspecting the lab for safetyconcerns; enforcing PPE and shop safety requirements; maintaining,cleaning, and repairing welding equipment and tools; assisting withinventory and tool room organization; receiving and unloadingmaterials; and helping maintain a clean, safe, and organizedwelding laboratory. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A welding certificate, diploma, or equivalent combination ofwelding education or experience is preferred. Applicant should haveworking knowledge of common welding processes, cutting equipment,hand and power tools, and welding shop safety practices. Must beable to work effectively with students and faculty, followinstructions, perform physical tasks associated with a weldinglaboratory, and maintain a safe and professional shop environment.Forklift experience is preferred.
