Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg is seeking a Part-Time VPK Assistant for St. Timothy Early Childhood Center to support developmentally appropriate learning experiences and maintain a safe, child-friendly classroom.

You will assist with gathering observations, adapting the learning environment to meet children's needs, and following licensing guidelines to ensure a high-quality program. The role supports inclusive classroom practices and daily care routines.

Qualifications

• Minimum education/training in childcare per DCF requirements.
• Early literacy training completion required.
• Certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR is required.

• Demonstrates cultural diversity in the classroom
• Assistant in gathering observation and screening data to guide instructional decisions

• Comply with licensing requirements and program guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

40 Hours DCF childcare training

5 Hours DCF approved early literacy training

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

• 40 Hours DCF required childcare training
• 5 Hours DCF approved early literacy training
• Infant and Child First Aid and CPR Certification

Hours

• 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Must pass a Level II background screening.
