Job summary

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is seeking a part-time VIC Specialist to assist travelers at visitors information centers in Savannah. You will greet guests, provide guidance on Georgia’s attractions, help plan routes and lodging, and maintain visitor records in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

Join a team driving tourism growth and statewide economic impact, with rotating weekend shifts and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage visitors with warmth and hospitality.
• Provide expert guidance on Georgia’s destinations, events and attractions.
• Help travelers plan routes, secure lodging, and locate essential services.
• Maintain accurate visitor records and engagement data.
• Represent Georgia at travel shows and events to promote tourism and economic impact.
• Update event and attraction information for state publications and websites.
• Support promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives.
• Work flexible rotating weekend shifts and some holidays.
