VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center in Madison, WI is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our Day Weekend Emergency and Critical Care Team. You will support Emergency doctor teams and create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.

As an Emergency team member, you will triage cases, place IV catheters, monitor critically ill patients, assist in anesthesia, maintain records, and collaborate with CSRs.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and prioritize incoming emergency cases
  • Coordinate ER flow by assigning clinicians and ensuring timely patient care
  • Provide high-quality nursing care and monitor critically ill or injured patients
  • Place IV catheters, perform diagnostic testing, and administer treatments
  • Assist in and monitor anesthesia for emergency procedures; manage patient recovery
  • Support clinicians during exams, procedures, and diagnostic imaging (radiographs, labs)
  • Communicate clearly with clients about patient status and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records, enter charges, and complete treatment sheets
  • Collaborate with CSRs and team members to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Maintain cleanliness, follow infection control protocols, and ensure proper patient restraint
  • Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development

VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center, in Madison, WI is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our Day Weekend Emergency and Critical Care Team!

As an Emergency team member, you will support the Emergency doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Our Emergency and Critical Care Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. Our Technicians have the opportunity to sharpen and advance their technical skills every day.

Schedule

Part-time opportunity, Day/1st shift every other weekend.

Compensation

Pay range is $25 - 35/hr and is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials.
