St. Francis Animal Hospital in Northwest Arkansas seeks a kennel technician to care for hospitalized and boarding animals, assist clinicians, and maintain clean, safe facilities. Responsibilities include feeding, medicating, restraining animals when needed, and keeping accurate medication and patient records.

Availability on weekends and bilingual English/Spanish are a plus. Join a fast-paced practice offering comprehensive care and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to clean and disinfect kennels and treatment areas.
• Able to restrain animals safely and humanely.
• Comfort with handling cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Able to perform moderately heavy physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing).
• Willingness to administer medications and follow directions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Care for hospitalized and boarding patients including feeding, medicating, and monitoring.
• Assist doctors and staff with exams and patient restraint as needed.
• Maintain proper recordkeeping for medications, foods, and patient status.
• Restock supplies and assist with cleaning, laundry, and instrument sterilization.
• Support safety and sanitation practices on all shifts.

St. Francis Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, fast paced 2.5doctorcompanion animal and exoticspractice located in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full body radiology, ultrasonography, and boarding.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

The kennel tech is responsible for the care, feeding, medicating, and cleaning of our patients in the hospital and boarding facility. This job involves cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, and medicating patients. You are responsible for restocking hospital supplies, helping with post-operative patients, assisting doctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. You will be responsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal is in our care. You may be trained to clean and sterilize surgical instruments.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
• Proper methods of animal restraint.
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
• Perform moderately heavy physical labor (large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods, etc).
• Abilityto sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injured animals.
• Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job.
• Saturday and Sunday availabilityrequired
• Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus!
