Job summary

Fallston Veterinary Clinic is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff in Harford County, Maryland.

The ideal candidate has prior animal care experience and the ability to assist with exams, treatments, and basic lab work. We offer a supportive work environment, pet discounts, and a range of benefits. Schedule includes Wednesdays, Fridays, and two Saturdays per month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience working with animals in a veterinary setting.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely.
• Disinfection, room prep, and assisting with examinations and surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and collect samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.
• Greet clients and escort them to exam rooms; relay care plans and follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, organized clinic.
