Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Ventura, California, is seeking a Part-Time Veterinarian to balance clinical engagement with flexibility. Join a locally led team supported by national resources, with a Culture of Care that values wellbeing and collaboration.

You will perform comprehensive exams, diagnostics, and surgery while educating clients. Our 16,000 sq ft specialty center features in-house labs, C-Arm, 64-slice CT, 1.5T MRI, ultrasound, and advanced digital radiology to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ years of experience in emergency practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
• Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all staff.
• Client communication skills to elicit information and build rapport.
• Ability to manage pets under stress with confidence.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and controlled substances handling.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Work with Hospital Manager on priorities.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols daily.
• Attend rounds and participate in training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
